Forbes: Johnny Weir — a three-time U.S. ice skating champion, two-time Olympian, and World bronze medalist — is not exactly in my wheelhouse. I know very little about the sport and can barely stand up on ice skates.
But as I wrote about last summer, Weir, along with his broadcasting partner and Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski, really got my entire family into the sport during the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi when they debuted.
Weir still performs in shows and has evolved into a pop culture icon whose fashion and opinions resonate on social media. He and Lipinski will be working the Beverly Hills Dog Show on the USA Network Easter Sunday evening. Besides the Olympics, he and Lipinski are commentators on everything from dog shows and Kentucky Derby, to the Super Bowl and policing fashion at the Oscars.
What has Weir’s journey been like and how does he ride the waves? In this podcast I chat with Weir about his life, career and ambitions.
