U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame Nominations Open through Sep 22

This is the first year that Johnny Weir is eligible to be nominated to the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame as an Outstanding Competitor. If you would like to nominate Johnny, please click here to complete the official nomination form. More info below.


U.S. Figure Skating: Nominations are being accepted for the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame Class of 2018. Members of U.S. Figure Skating and the public may submit a nomination. The deadline to submit a nomination is 11:59 p.m. ET, Sept. 22, 2017.

Criteria

The U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame was established in 1976 to honor those who have made outstanding contributions to the sport of figure skating. Nominees may be emeritus, deceased or actively working. Those elected will need to receive a simple majority (51 percent) of the total number of votes cast by electors to the U.S. Hall of Fame.

Please nominate Johnny in “Category A – Outstanding Competitors.” Then choose “Men’s” as the discipline in which he competed. Selection to the Hall of Fame is based on a skater’s competitive career, but skaters cannot be nominated until they have been retired for five years. Johnny’s nomination is based on his pre-retirement career as a champion men’s singles skater.
