NBC Sports: Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents 13 hours of live coverage of the 2017 Grand Prix Japan beginning this Friday, November 10, at 12:30 a.m. ET, with the short programs from Osaka. Coverage of the event continues throughout the weekend, with the free programs on Saturday starting at 12:30 a.m. ET.
Andrea Joyce calls the men’s and ladies’ free skates live on Olympic Channel beginning at 3 a.m. ET Saturday, alongside 1998 Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski and three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir. Also on Saturday, NBC will present coverage of Grand Prix Japan at 1:30 p.m. ET with commentary by Weir, Lipinski, and Joyce.
2014 Olympic gold medalist and reigning world champion Yuzuru Hanyu, who can qualify for the Grand Prix Final with a win in his native Japan, highlights the men’s field that also features 2015 U.S. champion Jason Brown – the 2017 Skate Canada silver medalist – and 2016 U.S. champion Adam Rippon.
The Olympic gold medal favorite on the ladies’ side, two-time reigning world champion Yevgenia Medvedeva from Russia, will also compete in Osaka, where 2010 Olympian Mirai Nagasu and 2017 U.S. bronze medalist Mariah Bell will lead the American effort.
Americans Madison Hubbell and Zach Donohue will compete in ice dance against three-time Olympic medalists and reigning world champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir of Canada.
